周永志，1938年出生，浙江东阳人。现系中国书法艺术研究协会副主席，中国书画家协会名誉主席，中央美术学院外聘书法教授书法博士生导师，中国教育联盟聘为艺术教育客座教授。中国文化管理协会聘任的书法技师技能鉴定的培训项目专家委员。

师法赵孟頫、怀素、张旭等书法大家融入自己的创造，创新，形成自己的书风，其书法特点，十分独特称著。《中国收藏》评其书法“笔势纵横，淋漓痛快……有强烈自我意识，并形成自己鲜明的特色”，香港书家评论他的字“形体美，气势美、意境美”三美结合。《艺术与价值》点评周永志书作“大气磅礴，挥洒自如，一时急泻如风雨雷电，一时平静如松生空谷……”

题写了《长城谣》《黄大年》《在桃花盛开的地方》影片片头。在景德镇瓷品，茶具两套国礼器皿上题字。与中国国际集邮网等部门合作出版了三套珍藏邮册。单独出版了四套草书挂历。

先后发表了《在书法创作中贯彻“创造性转化”“创新性发展”的几点思考》等论文和《三十六小洞天》等诗歌多篇。
